I just finished three skeins of rug yarn and I'm ready to start spinning more. This is part of my effort to meet all my 2016 goals. At least I'll take a good stab at most of them. So far I've made 16 scarves, 16 things from stash, 5 out of six pairs of socks and I'm almost finished a challenge to make 16 different things. This will be a productive year of competitive knitting.

I have 6 bobbins worth of rug yarn singles to ply. This should keep me busy this evening and tomorrow when I wind off the bobbins into skeins. I am making real progress towards spinning up that 18 gallon tub of fiber into rug yarn.

Snow is falling on the Joe Pye weed and it looks beautiful. This is our first snowfall of the year. I love how it looks on our native plants. If there is one thing I have learned from this election, it is that I'm inspired to redouble my efforts to do all I can to protect our environment. And that includes the small work of turning my tiny Suburban property into a bird, bee and butterfly sanctuary

The last bit to do on this throw is to finish it. Right now I'm adding some blanket stitch while it's still on the loom. Next I cut this piece off and complete finishing process. This piece is over shot done in a traditional pattern called Wandering Vine.

As a Competitive Knitter this planner is a perfect addition to my 2017 knitting strategy. It will be really easy to keep track of all my projects and where I'm at on my various challenges. I've used spreadsheets in the past but sometimes good old pen and paper are the best solution. I've joined 3 challenges so far for next year and looking for more. DH brought it home for me tonight. Very happy.
